Yanagita Distillery (the Yanagita family hand-crafting shochu in southern Miyazaki since 1902) ages a cask-strength version of its Yanagita Koma barley shochu for 1-3 years in Japanese Mizunara oak. The result is a mellow, lightly oaked honkaku barley shochu bridging shochu and whisky drinkers. It is listed on JETRO's Discover Shochu B2B directory and imported into the US by Skurnik Wines & Spirits. It is an established premium aged-shochu export brand.
